Been so long...

I saw a meteor today. It was part of the great annual Perseid shower and I noticed it while casually staring out of the dorm window. It was an epiphany. I am consequently reminded how small we are compared to the great depths of the world that is beyond our view and it happened just a moment ago as well. I am once again in utter awe of the works and ways of Nature. A tiny object in the sky - a tiniest flash actually - makes me think about myself and realise that in the big picture I don't really matter at all. Nothing we know really does. Because what's out there has existed for unimaginably long. And I think we all ought to think about it sometimes.
